Make the First Five Years Count

We’re more than a daycare in The Woodlands. We know how young children learn best, which is why our Balanced Learning® approach combines plenty of purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers.

Franchise Owners

Don and Arlena McLaughlin

The McLaughlins have been active owners in their Primrose Schools, providing nurturing childcare
services and the premier educational foundation for children in The Woodlands and Spring for over
25 years. In addition to receiving the President’s Award for Excellence, they have mentored and
trained many other Primrose owners.
Education has always been important to Don and Arlena. Montgomery County’s exemplary rated
schools are the reason the McLaughlin’s relocated to The Woodlands in 2001 with their sons, Caleb
and Callen. Both sons graduated from The Woodlands High School and subsequently graduated
from Baylor University. Along with Don, both are involved in developing and building preschools for
their family and other Primrose Franchise owners.
We are a family-owned business with seven locations in The Woodlands and Spring. Our schools
have been organically grown with the partnership and involvement of our family and long-tenured
leadership and staff. School support includes our sons, daughters-in-law, niece, area director,
curriculum director, and other tenured leaders. Our schools are managed by professionals who live
in our communities. This team allows us to maintain and/or make decisions locally about the quality
of our schools.
Don and Arlena are big advocates of giving back to their community with different events
throughout the year, such as donating food to our local food banks, partnerships with local non
profit organizations such as The Woodlands Children’s Museum, and donating funds to different
charities in the area.
Primrose’s philosophy, “Who Children Become Is As Important As What They Know,” helped The
McLaughlins decide to join Primrose 25 years ago and build and operate preschools in The
Woodlands and Spring area.
“We enjoy seeing and hearing the success of children who have experienced the foundation that a
Primrose education provides,” says Arlena McLaughlin.
We know that choosing the right preschool is not a decision made lightly, and we, on behalf of all of
Primrose, would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for choosing us to be a part of your
family.

Our family would love to meet yours.
